Digit humanoid robot

Oregon State University Agility has announced its willingness to sell its robots to anyone who needs them. Her humanoid Digit was designed as a robot for manual labor - for example, it can take boxes from shelves and carry them to a truck. Its price is $ 250,000.

Most robots in the world are created for research purposes, while developers strive to endow them with as many functions as possible. On its web page, Agility claims that it is time to take robots out of research labs and entrust them with specific, albeit simple, work.

The company notes that the current situation is ideal for machines like Digit, since due to the pandemic, there is a serious shortage of unskilled labor in the world. The robot has been designed to work in the real world and therefore can work safely around people.

For example, the company recently received funding of $ 20 million from various investors (in particular, from the Ford Motor Company), which ordered robotic loaders that will work in tandem with self-driving cars.
