Most modern drones (not counting purely military models) on electric traction have a very modest flight resource - as a rule, it does not exceed 30 minutes. For their hybrid "brothers" this figure is much higher.
For example, the HYBRiX 2.1 quadrocopter of the Spanish startup Quaternium, equipped with a hybrid drive (electric motors / internal combustion engines) in the stock configuration, was able to stay in the air for almost four hours on a single charge / refueling.
Back in 2017, its predecessor, the HYBRiX 2.0, set a world record of 4 hours 40 minutes. In February of this year, the next version 2.1 almost doubled this figure - 8 hours 10 minutes. But it did not last long either - the current record was already 10 hours 14 minutes.
Such a long flight duration was made possible by a 16-liter fuel tank in conjunction with the fuel injection system of the Spanish company Löweheiser. The HYBRiX 2.1 weighs 13 kg, but can carry up to 10 kg of cargo or accessories, has a cruising speed of 50 km / h and a maximum speed of 80 km / h.
