Microsoft is preparing a major OS update for Windows 10 in 2021, which sources say will significantly redesign the system's user interface. Reported by Windows Central.
The project is codenamed Sun Valley. Improvements expected in File Explorer, Start Menu, and Tablet Mode.
Microsoft is also working on an updated taskbar using modern code and an improved user interface for the legacy File Explorer. At the same time, according to the source, for some functions, users will be able to switch between the new and the old interface, updates will represent an opportunity of choice, not coercion.
It is noted that Sun Valley strives to improve and modernize the already familiar Windows, rather than radically change it. The company hopes that most of the development will be completed by June 2021, and the update itself will be available by the fall.
