The new decade may be marked by the widespread adoption of virtual reality systems, from education to robot control. Major brands are getting ready to compete for market share, and recently Panasonic showed its vision of what a virtual reality headset should be. Its main difference from current models like the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift is its very compact size.
The device has no working name yet, but it is already known that they want to fit all the stuffing into the body of large glasses. They have side panels that cut off excess light from the user's eyes. The headset is attached to the head using ordinary durable temples, and simple in-ear headphones are attached to them.
Panasonic says they are the world's first VR glasses with High Dynamic Range technology. Only it is realized as the complete opposite of what can be seen in photographs, when the shadows are lightened and objects in the light are darkened to show more details. In contrast, in a VR headset, light becomes lighter and darker darker, providing a high level of contrast without losing detail. At the same time, the developers promise support for 4K resolution.
As noted in Panasonic, they are in no rush and intend to prepare their headset for the moment when the 5G communication systems boom begins. In order to immerse users in a cycle of events using ultra-fast data streaming, from a virtual presence at sports events to traveling to a carnival on the other side of the world in real time. And yes, judging by the images presented, the headset is planned to be wireless by default.
