Windows users have complained about problems with System Restore. This is reported by TechRadar with reference to social media reviews and Microsoft materials.
The problem affected computers running Windows 10 2004. According to reviews, the function was not available to roll back OS settings to a previous version or completely reinstall the system. Journalists noted that System Restore is usually used when Windows degrades performance, encounters critical errors, or hardware breaks down.
The company's specialists have already noticed the problem and promised to fix it in the near future. In a statement Microsoft said that the problem affects a small number of users and is associated with the loss of compatibility with some hardware.
At the time of writing, the company's engineers have recommended using a workaround to run OS recovery. To do this, you need to run the command line through the Start menu as administrator and enter the command "dism / online / cleanup-image / restorehealth". Next, you should restart your computer and wait for the recovery process to complete.
Earlier, journalists said that the global October Windows update led to numerous crashes on computers. Typically, the problem arose with the transfer of images from the PC to the monitor, as well as problems with office equipment. A number of users reported a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) after installing a system update.
