Apple released Big Sur operating system

The operating system macOS Big Sur, aka macOS 11.0, has become available to owners of Apple computers. The upgrade to the new version, as is the case with other Apple systems, is free.

In terms of volume of changes, this is one of the largest macOS updates in recent years. The company redesigned the appearance of the system and icons, a new control center and widgets in the style of iOS appeared, the Safari browser was seriously improved, and new security and privacy systems for user data were introduced.

Big Sur also supports Apple's new M1 chip. The first devices with it were presented last Tuesday.

You can upgrade the operating system to Big Sur on the following devices:

  • Macbook 2015 or newer
  • Macbook Air 2013 or newer;
  • Macbook Pro late 2013 or newer;
  • iMac 2014 or newer
  • iMac Pro of all versions;
  • Mac Pro 2013 or newer.
